Swifities


"A fan of the music Taylor Swift" (1). This is the definition of the term"Swifite" from dictionary.com. What other Fandoms are recognized in dictionsry.com? This is why Taylor Swifts Fandom is one of the largest fandoms in the country. Not only having their own spot in the dictionary puts these Swifties on top but many more things that make them a strong and welcoming fandom. This Fandom is known for their creativity, excitement, and support to Taylor Swift.


One of Taylor Swifts most iconic moments is when she put on a Three and a half hour show for her fans. This show was titled as "The Eras Tour." Taylor played at least two songs for each of her albums putting on an unforgettable show that will go down in history. Swifties were so eager and excited for this concert they shut down Ticketmaster (2). This just goes to show the support and level us fans would go to just to be there for our favorite Pop Star. Even when some Fans could not get tickets they showed up in their Taylor Swift bedazzled outfits sitting on the street outside of the stadiums just to hear Taylor Swift. 

Another thing us Swifties do that I think should make everyone want to become a fan is our art and creativity. Swifties make everything from artwork to outfits. Some even write books or make videos and go on podcasts. Some of the outfits at the Concert went Viral on Tik Tok and other social Media Platforms for their extravagant outfits. One particular outfit that went viral was Taylors Reputation Snake Body Suit.  At the Eras tour Taylor had approximately 16 outfit changes throughout the show and had over 40 costumes just for the entertainment of her fans (3). 


Like other Fandoms the Swifties also have conventions. The most popular convention fans go to is called "Taylor-Con." This is where all fans get to mingle with others who share the same interests and just really show support and love. Along with connecting with other fans this Fandom has a very strong social media stand. Between Tik Toks, Instagram posts, or Facebook Groups there is a platform for everyone to embrace their love for Taylor. 

 I am so glad I get to experience being part of this and find Taylors hidden easter eggs she has for us fans to explore. I think everyone who is a fan of entertainment should be a part of this fandom. Not every pop artist does a three and a half hour show just for us fans!

Who am I?

Hi, my name is Dat Le. I am a freshman at Bloomsburg University, and my current major that I changed to is Biomedical Science with a Pre-med concentration. I live in the city of  Wilkes-Barre which is pretty close to Bloomsburg so I could have commuted, but I chose to dorm and see the real college experience. Every since high school, I've enjoyed playing volleyball during and outside of school so I chose to also play in club volleyball I college. Who Am I?

First Tier II tournament win!     Hello, my name is Carter Brown. I'm from Pottsville, PA, around an hour drive away. I am a second year student, and I changed to an EGGS major in the professional geology concentration last semester, formerly a chemistry major.      I enjoy video games and I am part of the Smash & Games club on campus. If you come to Kehr Union room 231 in the late afternoon or evening on Friday, chances are you will see me engaging in some sort of video game at the Smash & Games club. I won a Smash Bros. tournament there last semester, which was when the picture on the right was taken! I also enjoy bowling.
