The Office Fandom
One of the most surprising things I learned about the fandom was how many people made fan art and how much it differed. You could see fan art anywhere from a popular scene to scenes being morphed into a different concept. I found that the art always showed how fans liked certain scenes and wanted to show that.
Another thing that surprised me was how many people visit Scranton. People will visit Scranton, PA, from all over and only go to certain places. The places that were talked about in The Office and had an impact on the show have souvenirs for you to get. One of the biggest places is Coopers Seafood. There is so much to do and visit in Scranton that was shown or even talked about in the show. People love to go and see these places in real life. The last thing that surprised me was how much fans really put themselves in the TV relationships and react to them. Fans believe that this show is real life, and these people and their relationships are real. People want these relationships and compare it to their own relationship.
Overall, I learned a lot of new things about the fandom and how people contribute to it. I still watch The Office and might participate more in the fandom. I loved researching more about my fandom and being surprised by things that happen within the fandom.
